Protein bars stay in my pantry. Always do. A busy morning demands it. Coming home from work does too. Lots of brands float around, but lately the internet cannot get enough of Built bars.
Why? Dessert flavors. Candy textures. Protein packed in tight.
The catch was ordering online. Amazon. TikTok Shop. Hauling boxes from a doorstep. Now, not so much. Trader Joe’s decided to carry them. In actual stores. I saw a post, didn’t believe it, then walked to my local New York location and found them sitting on a shelf. Stocked. Real.
The selection might vary by location. Mine only had Cookie Dough Chunk Puff out front. I saw an unopened box behind the counter, so maybe Brownie Batter is hiding back there, waiting. The post claimed both were in rotation.
Nutrition wise? Decent.
– Cookie Dough : 15g protein.
– Brownie Batter : 17g protein.
Here is the kicker. They cost $2.29 per bar. Go to the Built website for a box of twelve. Pay $29.99. Do the math. That is $2.50 a pop. You save thirty-one cents per bar by walking into a store in sweatpants. Is it much? Not really. Is it convenient? Yes.
Most of the shelves at TJ’s are store-brand clutter. Seeing a name-brand outsider shows up feels like an Easter egg. I like it. One fewer stop on my grocery run. Fewer websites to tab-open.
Who else is excited about this? Or is this just me?
Buying food should not feel like solving a logistics puzzle.
