The photos are out. And yeah. The tension is real.
Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster were spotted recently—just once since reports surfaced about a strange new dynamic in their personal lives. Specifically. The pressure from the past. Deborra-Lee Furn Jackman’s ex-wife and mother to his two adult children—has apparently asked to meet the couple.
Just the two of them plus Deb. To talk.
It’s not a hostile move. At least, not on paper. The request comes after months of what New Idea magazine calls a “blindsided” reaction from Jackman and Foster. Furness wants to clear the air. To heal the obvious friction that has been simmering in their shared social circles for too long.
Why? Closure. Pure and simple.
A source tells it wasn’t about Furness wanting to read Foster the riot act. Or throw a fit. It was about checking a box. Something she needed to do to end the awkwardness. To finally speak her truth.
For the record. Furness has not exactly loved the parade. Watching her husband and his new girlfriend mingle with the exact same crowd. The people they used to socialize together with as a couple. It sounds painful. Humiliating even. Especially for a 70-year-old woman who just wants peace.
Jackman and Foster didn’t exactly look relaxed in the shots published by Daily Mail on May 26. Tense faces. Gym gear on. Looks like they were debating whether to take the meeting offer or run.
“This isn’t about Deb being angry… It’s about closure.”
The affair started on stage. Or so the timeline suggests. The Music Man revival. Late 2021 into 2023. Jackman played the lead. Foster played his wife in the play. In life, they found something real enough to end a 27-year marriage to Furness. Foster also split from her own husband, Ted Griffin. They share an eight-year-old daughter, Emily.
Now. Here we are.
Family functions loom. Kids Oscar, 26, Ava, 20. All involved. Does this meeting work? Probably awkward. Furness spent years swearing off being in the same room as Foster. But things change. Priorities shift.
Maybe they show up. Maybe they don’t. Either way, the path to peace doesn’t look smooth. Just necessary.
Will they talk? 🎭
Who knows. They’re open to the idea, sure. But open doesn’t mean ready. Or comfortable. The daily mail said so much, but left so much out. What happens after the handshake? When the cameras turn off. That part remains. Very quiet.
